David "Mac" Macmaster, CSAC, PTTS, is the Managing Consultant for the Wisconsin Nicotine Treatment Integration Project (WINTIP). WINTIP’s mission is to integrate evidence-based nicotine-dependence treatment into the state’s addiction and mental health services.
Macmaster is a 30-year addiction specialist with experience as a clinician and director/administrator. He has specialized in tobacco prevention, treatment and control for 10 years, becoming the first Wisconsin addiction clinician to be certified by the Mayo Clinic’s tobacco treatment specialist program.
Macmaster currently serves on the Wisconsin clinicians board of directors. He is an independent member and former secretary of the Wisconsin Alcohol and Drug Treatment Providers Association (WADTPA). He also serves on the Governor's State Council on Alcohol and Other Drug Abuse’s Treatment and Intervention Committee. He is a past Advanced Member of American College of Addiction Treatment Administrators (ACATA) and was the founding director of Substance Abuse Services for Clayton County (Iowa).
Macmaster, who has been in recovery for 54 years, was selected as Wisconsin’s representative at the national Rally for Recovery in Philadelphia for 2010.
