Tricia
has a masters of public health degree in community health education.
She most recently worked as a cancer information specialist for
UW-Madison and the National Cancer Institute, helping people across
the country learn more about cancer and break their addiction
to tobacco. She has been involved with youth tobacco prevention
programs and coalitions aimed at affecting local clean indoor
air policies and youth smoking rates.
Tricia focuses her outreach efforts in these areas:
• Providing training, resources and additional support to
regional clinics and hospitals to help staff implement tobacco
cessation treatment based on the U.S. Public Health Service
Clinical Practice Guideline: Treating Tobacco Use and Dependence.
• Helping
to implement the Fax to Quit program, which allows smokers to
easily sign up for free telephone counseling provided by the Wisconsin
Tobacco Quit Line. Fax to Quit is a free service available
to health care providers and employers. UW-CTRI will provide data
management and tracking as part of the Fax to Quit service.
