The Center for Tobacco Research and Intervention, a University of Wisconsin Medical School program, is a nationally recognized tobacco dependence research center that has provided cessation and prevention services in Wisconsin and beyond since 1992. The UW-CTRI research programs strive to expand our understanding of tobacco dependence and its treatment and to design and implement interventions that will significantly reduce tobacco use. Our Wisconsin outreach programs help smokers quit and reach out to healthcare providers, insurers, employers and advocates to reduce the health and financial burden resulting from tobacco use.
