David
Fraser, MS, Assistant Director of Research Administration
David Fraser, UW-CTRI's
Assistant Director of Research Administration, has lead responsibility
for organizing internal systems to support the mission and work of UW-CTRI.
He works to support development, submission and management process of
grants. His role includes insuring that UW-CTRI has a productive relationship
with funding agencies, collaborators and other organizations concerned
about tobacco cessation.
Fraser provides
organization development services and oversees human resource support
for all UW-CTRI programs. He is engaged in organizing and promoting
strategic planning for the Center and encouraging the use of objective
evaluation of programs. He also oversees the operation of the central
UW-CTRI office.

Fraser
comes to UW-CTRI with an extensive background in program management
and consultation. He received a bachelor's degree from Brown University
and a Masters in Urban Affairs from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee,
concentrating in public administration. He has been the chief
executive of three different non-profit agencies, including Family
Service of Madison. Most recently, he was Program Director for
a multidisciplinary project designed to improve services for children
with severe mental health problems. For this project, he consulted
extensively with other communities around the country to develop
improved systems of care.
