TTURC
2: Tobacco Dependence, Treatment and Outcomes
(2005-2009)
UW-CTRI
continues its Transdisciplinary Tobacco Use Research (TTURC), funded primarily by the National Institutes on Drug Abuse. The current study, Tobacco Dependence: Treatment and Outcomes (TTURC 2), began in 2004. It has the ambitious goal of addressing gaps in our current knowledge about the treatment of tobacco use as well as the health and economic effects of smoking and quitting. TTURC 2 is also unique in that is examines each smoker as a "whole person," accounting for a bevy of environmental and health maintenance factors. See graphic.
