UW-CTRI Measures and Scales

UW-CTRI researchers have developed several scales that are designed to assess attributes of smokers, tobacco dependence and the process of quitting. These scales (below) are available for your use.

A new tool helps predict relapse to smoking

The Wisconsin Inventory of Smoking Dependence Motives (WISDM-68)
A 68-question survey designed to assess smoking dependence based on 13 sets of motives.

Smoking Consequences Questionnaire
Recent research shows that drug outcome expectancies influence drug motivation and use. This scales shows a similar effect for smoking.

Wisconsin Smoking Withdrawal Scale
This is a 28-item scale that assesses nicotine withdrawal.
