2007 UW-CTRI Funding Sources

In 2007, UW-CTRI operated with approximately $8 million, including almost half from outside the state of Wisconsin. Funding for UW-CTRI research and activities comes from a variety of sources—state of Wisconsin tobacco control funds, federal government grants, the University of Wisconsin, nonprofit organizations and pharmaceutical clinical trials. The Center is committed to maintaining a diversified funding portfolio. UW-CTRI does not accept tobacco-industry funding because this would be inconsistent with UW-CTRI’s mission.
