Your Outreach Specialist in Western Wisconsin is Kris Hayden

Kristine Hayden has worked with healthcare providers, employers, insurers, tobacco control advocates and smokers in western Wisconsin for years. In fact, she was a key member of a health coalition (pictured above) that helped providers in Eau Claire help their patients quit smoking. She holds a bachelor's of science degree.

Communicating with healthcare providers, insurers, employers and smokers comes naturally to Kris because she has a great deal of professional experience in health care and human services.

As an outreach specialist at UW-CTRI, Kris has provided expertise and training on the Clinical Practice Guideline: Treating Tobacco Use and Dependence. She is also active helping clinics, hospitals and other healthcare organizations set up the Fax to Quit program, a unique free service that seemlessly connects patients with the Wisconsin Tobacco Quit Line. She works to help providers help patients with behavioral health diagnoses to quit smoking.

"The Clinical Practice Guideline training you provided was extremely helpful for our staff and community partners. You gave an excellent overview and provided us with the information and tools to help us be successful in helping people in the community to quit smoking. I am glad this service is offered in our state -- what a difference it will make!”

"We were pleased with the information you presented on the Guideline and the Quit Line. Now we have more information and resources that we can use to help our patients quit tobacco for good!"
